Our Journey
The history of PolyNatural® dates back to 2007 when our parent company EPL signed its first agreement with Scion regarding the potential development of bio polymers.
EPL is a 100% privately New Zealand owned company based in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. EPL is a polymer component manufacture who’s own history dates back to 1974. They have a long history of innovation.
Scion is a Crown research institute that specialises in research, science and technology development for the forestry, wood product and wood-derived materials.
This agreement sparked many research and development projects between the two organizations.
Now PolyNatural® is part of a mahi tahi (collaboration) involving public and private entities from around the world who' sole vision is to develop world leading bio technologies.
PolyNatural® was set up as a separate business unit in 2023. In the timeline below, you will see we have several different generations of products as we refine the formulations and product designs based on the feedback we receive.
The team at PolyNatural® are constantly researching, designing, formulating and experimenting to ensure our products are world class.

Award Winning Collaboration.
In 2020 EPL & Scion were recognised at the Sustainable Business Awards by winning the award for Outstanding Collaboration for the work on the predecessor to the PolyNatural® Vine Clip.
