Position purpose

The Quality and Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s quality management and environmental systems are compliant with the relevant standards and regulations. This role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s quality and environmental policies and procedures as well as ensuring that these policies and procedures are effectively communicated to all employees. Additionally, the Quality and Compliance Manager will be responsible for leading the company’s continuous improvement initiatives in quality and environmental management. This role reports to the CEO.

Key tasks & responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the company’s quality and environmental management systems are compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Generate quality plans based off customer requirements and communicate those to the production team.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the company’s quality and environmental management systems.
  • Implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives and communicate to all employees.
  • Lead and support internal and external audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports on quality and environmental performance to senior management.
  • Train and educate employees on quality and environmental management systems.
  • Actively support and build the company’s safety culture.
Skills & attributes
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, especially focused on ISO9001 and Net Inspect
  • At least 5 years’ experience in quality management in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Ability to proactively identify, implement and drive multifaceted continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent mathematical and literacy skills.
  • The ability to search for, locate, extract, organise, evaluate, and use or present information that is relevant to a particular topic.
  • Project Management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • In depth knowledge of relevant standards and quality control processes and quality management systems.
  • Statistical and Graphical Analysis of Data.
  • Planning and scheduling.
  • You must meet the requirements for working in NZ and have a full NZ drivers licence.
