Position purpose

We are looking for our next intake of Maintenance Apprentices to work as part of our Engineering Team. We have a supportive training environment that has a strong track record of growing and developing our people. We have won multiple industry awards for training over the nearly 50 years we have been operating. Training as a Maintenance Engineer we will give you a broad variety of skills and knowledge. fitting, machining, welding, maintenance, repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, machinery installation and fabrication. You will report to the Engineering and Project Manager and be based at our Christchurch facility. Our manufacturing plant operates 24 hours/5 days a week,

Key attributes and skills.

The successful candidate will be a great communicator, a person who has strong problem solving abilities. You will will have the ability to identify, diagnose and problem solve. You will have the ability to build relationships with a wide cross section of people. We are looking for a person who will bring energy creativity and enthusiasm. Key skills required are

  • NCEA Level 2 in Math and English
  • Mechanical pre trade qualification (preferred)
  • Computer literate (Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to work in a team or unsupervised

The Role

  • Participate in hazard and risk assessment of projects
  • Scheduling and performing routine maintenance,
  • Diagnosing issues
  • Repairing Tools
