Position purpose
We are looking for an Extrusion Machine Operator at our Christchurch factory to work on the night shift. This role is permanent full time employment. We are looking for the successful candidate to start this position in the New Year, ideally mid January. To apply for this position, you MUST have be a NZ citizen or have NZ Residency.
About this role
- You will work on plastic extrusion lines
- Set up, adjust and calibrate extrusion lines to ensure the product produced meets all quality specification and industry standards
- Monitor and tune extrusion lines ensuring targets and quality specifications are maintained throughout the production run
- Complete all relevant quality and production documentation
- Trouble shoot issues alongside the Supervisor and Plant Manager, ensuring serious technical issues are reported to management and the engineering team
- General housekeeping duties, including monitoring plant and equipment, completing maintenance checks
Skills & experience
- Have a strong health and safety focus
- Machine Operation experience, Extrusion experience will be a plus
- Mechanically minded
- Sound knowledge of basic mechanical engineering principles
- Power tool experience – Saws, Nail Guns, Screwdrivers, Spanners, etc
- Excellent planning, co-ordination and time management skills
- Physically fit and capable of lifting
- Computer skills- Basic knowledge Outlook applications, ERP system
- Ability to analyse relevant information, follow instructions, and good communication skills
- Forklift endorsement and OSH Forklift Licence
- You MUST have be a NZ citizen or have NZ Residency.
